Medium Diameter Structural Carbon Tubes
3.0", 3.9", and 6.0"
Originally developed for use as airframes on small research rockets, we are now offering these tubes for all other applications. Our carbon fiber tubes are convolute wrapped ("roll wrapped", similar to the way G-10 tubes are made) using actual aerospace quality carbon fiber cloth. The cloth we use is a very tight 3k 8 harness satin weave common in aerospace applications. Fiber orientation is 0/90 degrees and has a fiber/resin ratio of 60/40% by weight (40% resin content). The laminate is cured under pressure and at temperatures of over 250 degrees F. Once cured, the tubes are fine sanded and nearly ready for paint. Appropriate primers and prep will be required.
